Important Information
- No children under 4 are allowed on the ice.
- Due to the element of risk associated with this type of activity customers skate entirely at their own risk.
- The building has some supporting pillars that are protected but may affect anyone attempting a high standard open skating rink routine.
- If a session is cancelled by Sligo On Ice due to exceptional circumstances or because we deem the rink to be unsafe all ticket holders will be immediately refunded in full. Please allow 5 working days for your credit card company to allocate the refund back to your account.
- Booking is recommended to guarantee availability and to avoid disappointment.
- For safety regulations the rink has a maximum number of skaters for each session.
- By booking a session you are agreeing to the Sligo On Ice terms and conditions.
- Skaters should arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the session to allow time to park, check in, collect and fit their skates.
- Sessions last approximately 45 minutes.
- Children 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult (one adult for every three under 14’s) – viewing from rink side is acceptable.
- To make your visit as enjoyable as possible we recommend warm, comfortable, outdoor clothing suitable to the weather conditions on the day:
- For example; long socks not trainer socks. Trousers or tracksuit bottoms. Thin layers of clothing under a thick jumper or sweatshirt. A waterproof jacket. Gloves, hats and scarves are also recommended, please ensure the scarf is tucked in securely. Please note:”hoodies” are not permitted to be worn “up” on the ice as they affect your all round vision. It is also recommended to bring a change of clothes.
- Skate hire is free. If you wish to bring your own skates please ask a member of staff to check their condition and suitability for our rink. All of our skates are sharp and ready to go. Multiple sizes available.
- Penguins – for the youngsters
- We have 5 Penguins available for free. For health & Safety reasons, users of the Penguins must be under 1.2 meters in height. Penguins are available on a strictly first come first served basis.
- In order to give as many people as possible a chance to use these skating aids, we would ask that customers return them to skate hire after their time has elapsed as quickly as possible. We would like to thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Personal belongings
Where possible please keep your personal belongings to a minimum. Any items left behind skate hire or in lockers (if provided) are left at the Owners Risk. No bags or rucksacks are allowed on the ice. We do not accept responsibility for any items which are left unattended.
First aid
There is a first aid point within the skate exchange area. In the unlikely event you or a member of your party should need first aid treatment, please alert a member of staff. A first aider will be available to assist as required. Please advise a member of staff if you have injured yourself. We will need to take some basic details at this time.
Ice rink size and capacity
20m x 10m allowing a capacity of 70 skaters per session
Refund policy
No refunds will be made unless our Management have found it necessary to close the ice rink due to Health & Safety or technical concerns.
Skaters will be asked to sign a disclaimer waiver or sign on behalf of a minor.

Terms & conditions
Ice Skating is a fun and enjoyable activity and is a lot of fun for the entire family but it does present some risks, especially for inexperienced skaters.
Remember that you skate at your own risk and, with that in mind, following our safe skating advice will ensure that your visit to Sligo on Ice is enjoyable and minimise the possibility of an accident. Ice Marshals are present on the rink at all times during all sessions and you are required to adhere to the our safe-skating guidelines;.
- The use of helmets, knee pads and elbow pads is recommended.
- The use of cameras, music players or any handheld equipment is not permitted whilst skating.
- Trailing clothing is not permitted whilst skating.
- Any persons, who in the opinion of the Ice Marshals, represent a danger to themselves or others will be asked to leave the rink.
- Any persons who in the opinion of the Ice Marshals have consumed alcohol or any other substance likely to impair their balance will not be allowed on the rink.
- Any persons whose behaviour may be deemed as likely to cause offence to others will be asked to leave the rink.
- All sessions are recorded on CCTV.
- At no point are skaters permitted to form trains whilst skating.
- While all reasonable measures are in place to ensure your safety, it is your responsibility to ensure that you are aware of the safety information prior to entering the rink. It is your responsibility to bring to the attention of the Ice Marshal any event or act which may impact on your safety while skating.
- In the event of an accident, Sligo on Ice will have a qualified person on duty to provide first aid.
- When your session has ended you will be directed to the exit point by the Ice Marshal and Public Address system. Please exit the rink in an orderly manner.
- For parents of younger children who may not fully understand all of the rules we ask you to keep an extra close eye on your little one at all times.
- Patrons must pay attention to the skaters around them and pay special attention to skaters ahead of you as they cannot see you coming, respect others as you would expect upon yourself.
- Sligo on Ice staff are there to help you enjoy the ice experience, you are asked to respect their judgement in looking after the safety and best interest of all who come to enjoy the fun.
- Remember that ice skating can definitely be a fun activity for the whole family, as long as the rules of safety are closely followed.
- If you are new to skating or have young children it is best to take them during a time when the rink is less crowded. You can call us on 085 2508992 to find out when the rink is not as busy and choose this time to take them.
